Okay guys, I might have a thing for food. What also do I have a thing for? Awesomeness. And that's what the Semi-Tropic looks like: pure awesome. Where to start, where to start...aww, yes. The menus. The menu items range from go-to staples like avocado toast and burrata salad to exciting additions like a chicken tamale for breakfast, Spanish tortilla, and something called the "¡Churro Waffle!". Yes, you read the quotes correctly; there is a menu item that features the Spanish way of writing an exclamation. ¡I'm so excited by this business move! Just used one, see that there? ;-)
Next we have the decor, wherein the establishment sports a delicate blend of rustic and industrial. With the warm honey colored wood beams to the exposed piping, it's a cocktail of what would otherwise seem like polar opposites. And yet, they do it seamlessly. What I love even more about the bar/restaurant is its brand identity. From a small business owner's perspective, I admire it. It's very similar to my own branding personality. One thing in particular that I adore is the genuinely friendly vibe, as evidenced by it's free wifi, 11-7 happy hour, and "We're glad you're here!" emblazoned cocktail napkins. Another is its blend of the familiar with the adventurous, from the comfortable tomato bisque to the daring decision to offer a house-smoked trout salad. I would totally order it though! Would you guys?
So for today's "Here, There, and Everywhere" I'm imagining meeting up with a group of friends for happy hour. I'd suggest starting with one of their signature cocktails, like the wild Pop Rocks champagne, which is just as you read it: Pop Rocks and champagne. In terms of dress, I thought it would be best to keep it simple, yet not boring. I wanted a blend of casual meets collected and on trend. So to keep it classic, I started with a LBD (which stands for Little Black Dress, dad). Next I added a fashionable linen duster in the warm neutral of clay terracotta. As for jewelry, I wanted to add something refined and dainty, so I chose a delicate bracelet and a low-key statement brass necklace. I then topped the jewelry off with flirty, sparkly ear crawlers. Lastly, I added the Dylan fedora to give the look that usual Echo Park "cool." All of these can be found here, both in-store and online, at Gingerly Witty. Also, I couldn't resist and decided to include the Nisolo oxfords in noir. They're not at the store, but it is what I would/hope to wear there and I highly endorse them because they're like walking on clouds.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this feature. Please comment below if you enjoyed this post and would like to see more of the same! Thanks!
