Wow, I can't believe I forgot about doing these! Anyway, this week's "Here, There & Everywhere" is inspired by an actual date I'll be going on on Thursday evening. I'm super excited the latest "it" restaurant, Botanica. From longtime food writers/chefs Heather Sperling and Emily Fiffer, Botanica is a food blog come to life in a market + restaurant combo that is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
According to EaterLA, "the sunny new space...could help to lead the way on Los Angeles’s enduring health-conscious, produce-heavy charge." The menu is similarly light, with dishes directly inspired by the farmers market and carrying a vegetarian lean. That’s not to say everything is vegan or even meatless, but the place definitely falls on the produce side of the spectrum with shaved root vegetable salads, spring mezze plates, and light animal proteins like lamb kabobs.
The FreelandBuck Architects-built Botanica features warm colored exposed wood beams and a bright white interior, which is to be expected of the latest health food focused eatery in the hip enclave of Silver Lake.
