The other day, I was honored to be able to shoot with Michelle Terris of Michelle Terris Photography.
When she approached my a couple of weeks ago, I took a quick look at her portfolio and was in love! So many elements of her style - from the settings, angles, and mood - aligned with our brand identity. Plus, she's super awesome and easy to talk to, so that definitely helped a model newbie like me getting comfortable in front of the camera. What follows are a few looks from the store featuring products that are still in stock and ready to find new closet homes.
This is an everyday, staple outfit for sure. I'm loving the high-waisted denim + silk bandana trends that are "in" right now. This is an outfit that I feel incredibly comfortable wearing. I just feel at home (stylistically at least) in denim. I wanted to add a muted pop of color to the denim + white tee combo so I wrapped a olive silk bandana in a boy scout-like knot. And I've said this before and I'm happy to say it again: the blank canvas top is THE perfect white top. Made out of raw silk, it drapes across your body and is super soft to the touch. Plus, it's machine washable! Cannot beat that. And lastly, let me tell you about Dansko clogs. First off, they're "able to walk all day around an Anthropologie" level comfortable. Secondly, the natural shade means that they go with practically everything I own. Plus, if you want to make them a little more fashion-forward, I recommend pairing them with patterned socks.
I love to rock a look that is schoolgirl influenced and this outfit I think nails it, in my opinion at least. Plus, I love this kind of dress - loose in shape and short - because it's a combo in which I feel safe and comfortable. What I loved about this look was the pattern mixing in the polka dotted white socks peeping out from under my trusty Nisolo oxfords.
These photos were a last minute decision and risky move onto private property, but they were so worth it! I love the contrast of the orange against the light green of the cactus. As for the dress, the fabric, which is as soft as can be, flows over your body just right. Plus, I can't get enough of long sleeves on short dresses. I'm self-conscious about my arms (we all have something, right?), so the long sleeves are a huge relief.
