Personal Style: 3 Looks For Casual Echo Park Living

Gingerly Witty Personal Style 3 Looks For Casual Echo Park Living
The other day, I was honored to be able to shoot with Michelle Terris of Michelle Terris Photography. When she approached my a couple of weeks ago, I took a quick look at her portfolio and was in love! So many elements of her style - from the settings, angles, and mood - aligned with our brand identity. Plus, she's super awesome and easy to talk to, so that definitely helped a model newbie like me getting comfortable in front of the camera. What follows are a few looks from the store featuring products that are still in stock and ready to find new closet homes.
OUTFIT #1: Jamie + the Jones blank canvas top

This is an everyday, staple outfit for sure. I'm loving the high-waisted denim + silk bandana trends that are "in" right now. This is an outfit that I feel incredibly comfortable wearing. I just feel at home (stylistically at least) in denim. I wanted to add a muted pop of color to the denim + white tee combo so I wrapped a olive silk bandana in a boy scout-like knot. And I've said this before and I'm happy to say it again: the blank canvas top is THE perfect white top. Made out of raw silk, it drapes across your body and is super soft to the touch. Plus, it's machine washable! Cannot beat that. And lastly, let me tell you about Dansko clogs. First off, they're "able to walk all day around an Anthropologie" level comfortable. Secondly, the natural shade means that they go with practically everything I own. Plus, if you want to make them a little more fashion-forward, I recommend pairing them with patterned socks.
OUTFIT #2: Willow plaid babydoll dress by Esby

I love to rock a look that is schoolgirl influenced and this outfit I think nails it, in my opinion at least. Plus, I love this kind of dress - loose in shape and short - because it's a combo in which I feel safe and comfortable. What I loved about this look was the pattern mixing in the polka dotted white socks peeping out from under my trusty Nisolo oxfords.
OUTFIT #3: Orange Fiore dress by Natalie Martin

These photos were a last minute decision and risky move onto private property, but they were so worth it! I love the contrast of the orange against the light green of the cactus. As for the dress, the fabric, which is as soft as can be, flows over your body just right. Plus, I can't get enough of long sleeves on short dresses. I'm self-conscious about my arms (we all have something, right?), so the long sleeves are a huge relief.

Travel: Stories Books & Café + Around Echo Park

Gingerly Witty Travel Los Angeles Echo Park LA style fashion

Last Sunday, I had the honor of shooting with Annie Moses (@anniewmphoto) and Kimmy Shields at Stories Books & Café.

Stories is a favorite LA haunt of mine and it just so happens that it's right next door to our shop! Apart from being a local and independently run bookstore, the space doubles as a café, which includes a backyard patio. The menu is distinctly Californian fare, from their classic take on avocado toast with eggs, hummus platter, and...

Personal Style: Embroidery, a Jumpsuit, AND a Bandana

Gingerly Witty Personal Style: Embroidery, a Jumpsuit, AND a Bandana

The other day, Annie and I went out to grab some photos out and about in Echo Park. I wanted something casual, yet unique so I grabbed these LACAUSA overalls/jumpsuit, an embroidered tank and a white bandana to top off the look.

I love going out and simply taking photos with Annie. Not only is she super talented, but she's easy to work with and feel comfortable around even when you're not an expert model, which is...

Personal Style: Nothing Abstract About It

Abstract art is one of the hottest runway fashion inspirations. From Kadinski to Pollock, abstract prints have been "in" for quite some time. Our favorite abstract print? The one on our Anja Dress by Amanda Moss.

However, you might be thinking, "Erin, abstract art is cool and all. But wearing it? Forgeddaboutit!" Below are some examples of how to rock that abstract art through your clothes, whether your aim...
