Travel: Dapper Day at Disneyland

Alert: Photo heavy post.
Wow. Was Dapper Day at Disneyland an experience to remember! Unfortunately, the day got off to a super rough start, which then affected my entire experience for the day. And by "rough start" I mean I burned my eyeball. That's right: my eye! It all started when I decided to curl my hair. I was all about done except for one or two more strands and then suddenly out of nowhere the wand found itself swiping across my left eye. I burst into tears and flushed it out with cold water as quickly as a could, but to no avail; the damage had been done. While I probably should have gone to the doctor that very day, I just couldn't convince myself to not go to Disneyland. Afterall, this was Dapper Day! I'd dreamed about going for something like five straight years! I was all set to go with a pair of awesome annual-pass-holding Disney experts of friends of mine. And my vintage dress that I ordered online from Etsy literally fit me to a tee. And so, I hopped into MC and Daniel's car. Despite their offering to postpone our outing and do it another day, saying they'd dress up even though it wouldn't be Dapper Day, I persisted. I was going to go to Disneyland for Dapper Day 2017. Even if it meant breaking down into random bursts of painful tears throughout the day.

Love seeing my 1960s vintage dress paired against the retro, Art Deco California Adventure entrance.

So grateful the wind fell upon me and lifted my skirt for the perfect shot.

My Dansko clogs were the perfect shoe choice for the day. Comfy beyond belief, my feet didn't even hurt a single bit that day or the day after. Success!

You can see just a bit of my red, swollen eye.

Just using my imagination to pretend that I'm in the actual desert just like all the cool bloggers.

Props to Daniel for spotting this fountain. These are probably my favorite shots of the day. Love how the backpack and chambray are complimenting the yellow and blue of the fountain.

I think my legs are showing that I rarely see the sun.

Personal Style: 26 Ways to Wear Tropical Prints—Even if You’re Not on Vacation

Personal Style: Tropical Prints Gingerly Witty

"Palm fronds, pineapples, super-saturated florals, and flying birds: a good tropical print should whisk you off to a sunny island—even if, in reality, your feet are firmly on a city sidewalk." StyleCaster couldn't have said it better about tropical prints. Not only are they super on-trend this season, they're a great way to add color to your wardrobe.

The once-goofy Hawaiian shirt is making a major comeback this summer, and for more femme sensibilities, dresses laden with banana leaves and hibiscus are an easy way to feel like you’re on the...

Home Decor: Space-Saving Built-Ins for Small Spaces

Gingerly Witty Home Decor: Space-Saving Built-Ins for Small Spaces

Built-ins hold a special place in my heart. They remind me of a time when attention to detail and hints of charm were the norm. An era when every nook and cranny of a home could serve a purpose, if you could find and/or afford this type of craftsmanship.

When it came to apartment hunting, I wanted a small space, which would still allow me to keep my extensive wardrobe collection. Above all the other charming details - from herringbone subway tile, brass fixtures, and bottom kitchen...
